Following the successful one day events held over previous years, Frances Young has decided to hold a Three day summer event in 2007.

The dates are;
ART IN THE GARDEN
15TH, 16TH &17TH JUNE 2007
STOBERRY PARK, WELLS, SOMERSET

Following the success of previous 'Art in the Garden' events held at Stoberry Park, Wells, Frances Young decided to take a year out and prepare for an even greater event spread over at least three days in 2007.
The event had raised over £6000 for Macmillan Cancer relief in 2004 with only a one day event. By carefully selecting the best in Art and sculpture, Frances had combined the Artist's skills with her own gardening and landscaping skills to provide a pure feast of colour and design.Unusual sculptures appearing through beds of tumbling roses, water features to amaze any TV gardener and acre after acre of a garden that has had years of love and pure hard work poured into it.
Stoberry Park has the enviable position of being raised behind the City of Wells, with clear views of the Cathedral, two other churches and also Glastonbury Tor, just to be able to visit this site is wonderful enough. Frances has however managed to evolve a major event in the Gardening and Arts calendars with many up and coming Artists finding National recognition from exhibiting at one of her shows.
The 2007 event aims to enable all who wish to attend the chance to by spreading the summer event over three days, and for those who cannot make those dates, a spring bulb day will also take place earlier in the year.
Frances has involved the expertise of local Artist, Paula Kenevan, who owned and ran the 'Possi Gallery' in Castle Cary to assist in the planning and running of the event.
Frances's dream is to have the build up recorded to show just how much preparation and planning such a large scale event needs, then climaxing with a 1000 people a day wandering around the pathways discovering art that they could take home with them for their own gardens.
All this effort can then also help both Macmillan and Children's Hospice South West.
As well as the art and the gardens, there will be the usual array of carefully selected plant and craft stalls and some of the artists and garden experts will be running workshops and demonstrations.

As the event is highly selective, the cost to attend is minimal, with the emphasis on combining the quality art with the fantastic Garden setting. The support from visitors, and the commission on sales raises the funds for Macmillan and Children's Hospice South West.

During the three day event, join us for 'Gardener's questions at Stoberry Park' with a panel of experts. Meet the artists with champagne and canapes, and an operatic evening at which you are invited to bring your picnic.

The website will be updated as the event moves forward.
