Bristol is somewhat further from Wells than Bath, but still within reach.

As you enter Bristol, enjoy the view of the Clifton Suspension Bridge a Brunel engineering masterpiece. The Clifton Suspension Bridge was designed by Brunel and was opened in 1864 and is a great landmark of Bristol.

Visit the SS Great Britain, a museum ship – she was the largest passenger ship in the World 1845 to 1854. This wrought iron steam ship takes one back in time.

Having spent 37 years sitting on the seabed in the Falklands, in 1970 it was raised and brought home to Bristol. It is beautifully restored, with a little help from the Duke of Edinburgh. This was one of the jewels of Britain’s maritime history.

Bristol has a ‘hop-on and hop-off’ sightseeing bus with 21 stops. Visit the Zoo Gardens, or the Aquarium, take time to do a little shopping. The City Museum and Art Gallery are worth a visit.   When shopping visit the Bristol Blue Glass Museum and factory showroom. The At Gallery house some of the finest Art Glass being made today.

The Museum shows the development and manufacture of glass from 1500 BC to the present day.
